More than 1,000 people went along to the Daventry RFC fun day held on Saturday at the club.
There was a children’s fun fair, shopping and food village, plus the Josh Granfield Match.
Treats on offer included real ale and cider from Silverstone Brewery and chocolate and marshmallow toasties provide by Nibbles Corner.
As evening approached there was live music from eight local bands on the terrace stage, keeping the celebrations going till late.
“The event was a fantastic success and we were delighted to see so many Daventry people enjoying the day,” said the club’s vice-chairman Paul Russell. “Next year will be bigger and better following the fantastic support the people of Daventry have shown.
“Courtney Lawes and family attended the event and shared in the fun, and received many wishes of luck for the forth coming world cup from fans, and as one young player said ‘A real England player on our pitch thats so cool’.”
The event marks the start of the club’s Rugby World Cup celebrations – all England games will be shown live at the club.
