Collapsed manhole causes large pothole in major Northamptonshire road
Police have cordoned off a large hole on a major Northamptonshire road after a section of road collapsed this morning.
Officers from Northamptonshire Police were called at 6am after reports that a drain and part of the road had sunk on the A5 in Fosters Booth, near the Butcher’s Lane junction.
A police spokeswoman said the hole had grown bigger since the officers arrived.
Howver engineers found it was instead a BT manhole cover, which the company fixed by around 9.30am.
