A popular coffee shop in Daventry town centre is set to open its doors to a bigger unit next week.

Costa Coffee, in Bowen Square, will make the short move to the unit formerly occupied by Blockbuster, with an opening date set for Thursday, September 18.

A plan to change the use of the unit was submitted to Daventry District Council by Central Coffee Limited, based in Kenilworth, which runs Costa Coffee in the town. In a letter sent to DDC at the time, the
operations director Nigel Foster outlined that customers had wanted the store to be bigger.

One comment said they wished there was more than one toilet and that the space to sit is very limited.

The letter stated: “We think the people of Daventry deserve the additional seating space and extra toilet they have asked for.

“The new lease will provide an additional 30 per cent floor space. This will enable
us to increase the internal covers by 50 per cent and double the external, while increasing the space around each table and doubling the toilet facilities.

“Based on our seven-and-a-half year trading record in Daventry, we are confident that the new and larger unit will be an even better location for Costa and will allow us to improve the service we provide to our customers from in and around Daventry.”
