The foliage is being removed from The Knoll, in the Marches Industrial Estate, in order to prepare the site for future development and ahead of the bird nesting season. It is expected to take about three weeks.

Daventry District Council already has outline planning permission for commercial development on the site and a detailed planning application for major earthworks to further prepare the site, including creating an access road, drainage and strategic landscaping, is due to be considered by the Council’s Planning Committee on February 24.

The Knoll is an undeveloped patch of land encircled by London Road, West March, Long March and South Way.

Close to the town’s ring road and the A45, and with its surrounding area primarily developed for industrial use, DDC say the proposed new development site will be an attractive location for businesses to invest.

The project will be carried out by DDC, with the units then leased to businesses, providing new jobs and economic growth while producing additional revenue for the council.
