THE future of voluntary organisations in the Daventry district could be under threat after more funding cuts were revealed

Daventry District Council (DDC) has revealed that the grant given to the voluntary sector will be reduced by more than half over a three-year period starting in 2012.

The current grant sees DDC give out £156,000 but by 2014/15, this will be reduced to £80,000.

This puts further pressure on voluntary organisations such as Advice Daventry, DACT and Time2Talk, already under pressure because of cuts from Northamptonshire County Council.
