The Rev Nigel Fry has now taken over responsibilities for the parishes of Kilsby and Barby within the Daventry Team Ministry.

The service to authorise his new position – known as a licensing and installation – was led by the Right Rev John Flack, Honorary Assistant Bishop of Peterborough, at St Mary’s Chuch in Barby.

Mr Fry takes over the two parishes 18 months after their previous vicar, the Rev Peter Beresford, retired after holding the position for some 17 years. During the intervening time the congregations have been looked after by other members of the Daventry Team Ministry.

The licensing was performed by the Hon Assistant Bishop of Peterborough, and the installation by the Venerable Richard Ormston, Archdeacon of Northampton.

Mr Fry was previously vicar at Christ the Carpenter Church in Peterborough.

Following the church service a reception was held in the nearby village hall to welcome Mr Fry and his wife Mary to the parishes and the wider Daventry area.
