A CCTV image has been released of a man wanted in connection with an armed robbery in Daventry.

Northamptonshire Police have released the image following an alleged robbery at Bargain Booze, in Hardwick Hall Way on Middlemore, on Friday December 11.

The incident happened at about 7.20pm, when the offender went into the store, threatened the cashier with a kitchen knife and demanded money from the till.

The member of staff handed over a quantity of cash and the offender left the shop, making off on foot towards the nearby reservoir.

The offender is described as a white man, in his mid-20s, about 5ft 8in to 5ft 10in, with a slim build. He had short ginger hair with a freckled face and blue eyes, and spoke with a local accent.

He was wearing a hooded top, dark-coloured tracksuit trousers, dark blue trainers and a black scarf which covered the lower part of his face.

Witnesses, anyone with information or who recognises the man in the picture, are asked to call Northamptonshire Police on 101.
