Candidates announced for emergency Northamptonshire parish election

The list of people nominated for Spratton Parish Council’s emergency election has been announced.

There are 10 candidates, all who live in Spratton, for the nine seats available.

The candidates are:

Bill Blowfield

Craig Chivers

Julian Gaywood

Janice Holmes

John Hunt

Harry Mallinder

Janine Spence

Alexander Taylor

Jay Tindale

The poll will take place on Thursday October 22.

Daventry District Council has exercised special powers to enable a by-election to be held for Spratton Parish Council.

The move came following nine recent resignations of councillors, leaving the parish with only one standing councillor and no parish clerk.

The council was left non quorate and unable to legally conduct meetings or make decisions.
