A woman from Woodford Halse who launched her own bookkeeping business is set to expand into new offices and take on her first employee next week.
Clare Jordan, 40, launched her business in 2007 after having her first daughter. She decided to quit her old job following a meeting at the end of her maternity leave.
She said: “I was really lost and I didn’t know what to do. Before I had my children I was a PA to three floor managers and a managing director.”
Clare decided to working from home, and soon had a strong list of clients.
She said: “I have built up my business to the point where I am so busy that I either have to start refusing work or grow.”
She will be moving to her new offices in Banbury on September 21, with plans to grow her team to five staff.
She said: “I want to keep it relatively small so it feels like a friendly business.”
