A HOTEL near Daventry has been received an environmental award.
The Hellidon Lakes Golf & Spa Hotel, part of QHotels’ chain of 21 hotels has been awarded gold by Green Tourism Business Scheme Awards, in the National Sustainable Tourism Certification Programme.
General manager, Christophe Gitton, said: “We are committed to having sustainable operations and we strive to reduce the environmental impact of our business activities. This accreditation is testament to the commitment everyone has put into making the hotel friendly.”
Green Tourism, the largest and most established sustainable grading program in the world, assesses its member’s standards against criteria including environmental management and marketing, social involvement, waste and travel.
QHotels offers conference delegates the change to generate electricity for their events, and the chain has installed bee hives to combat the decline in bee numbers.
