Daventry District Council is inviting submissions from catering businesses interested in running and managing the café at Daventry Country Park.
Based at the Visitor Centre, the café helps cater for the Green Flag award-winning Park’s estimated 40,000 visitors a year.
DDC is seeking expressions of interest in a three-year agreement to provide a well-run and attractive café for the local community, offering high quality food and beverages, good value for money for the customer and polite and friendly customer service.
The café should be open for business from 9am to 5pm daily Monday to Saturday, from 9am to 4pm during the winter months (excluding Christmas Day and New Year’s Day) and from 10am to 2pm on Sundays and Bank Holidays.
It is expected the new licence would begin in the spring, when the current agreement comes to an end.
Councillor Alan Hills, Portfolio Holder for Community, Culture and Leisure on Daventry District Council, said: “The café is a real hive of activity at the park and this is a fantastic opportunity for a catering business to develop this further and ensure the café continues to provide an excellent service to visitors.
“Daventry Country Park is well-loved by the people of Daventry District as well as further afield. It hosts a variety of popular events and activities for visitors, and with proposals to expand the Park as well as plans to introduce new play equipment for younger children, its popularity looks set to grow and grow.”
