A new after-school club has launched in Long Buckby to offer safe care for the children of working parents.
School Wrap has been set up by Jenny Osborne in the grounds of Long Buckby Junior School.
It runs from 7.15am for early school drop-offs and until 6pm in the evening.
The former secondary school teacher has given up her career to set up the new business.
Mrs Osborne said: “My research has shown that there is a real need for further child care in our ever-growing village, especially for older children and we will cater for those up to the age of 14.
“I am also a mum of three children and with my eldest due to head off to secondary school in little over 12 months, I know that many parents find it really difficult to cater for their older children, they’re at that inbetween age where they dont’ want to ‘feel’ as though they are being looked after but clearly still need supervision during their free-time.”
There is a quiet area for laptops and older students and younger children will have space to play.
She added: “We are also planning on providing breakfast and a light tea. I’ve worked full time with children and I know how brilliant it is to pick them up all fed and ready for some invaluable mum and dad time before bed.”
School Wrap will also run clubs during the school holidays supervised by manager Abbie Dudley as its manager.
