A swathe of elves, snowmen and Santa impersonators will take to a muddy route in Catesby in December to raise funds for charity.
Similar to the Muddy Furlong which took place in September and raised funds for the Warwickshire and Northamptonshire Air Ambulance, the 5km Christmas Cracker cross country run will be open to people of all ages, who can run to raise cash for a charity of their choice.
And, with the event taking place three days after Christmas (December 28), all adult entrants will be invited to choose between running as an elf, snowman or Santa - with costumes included in their entry fee. Children will also be encouraged to wear fancy dress over their normal clothes.
The event is being organised by Kevin Newey, who works for Spuddy Media in Leamington and also runs Obstacle Race Magazine in his spare time.
He said: “All of our obstacles are suitable for all ages, and although our 5km Christmas event sounds a long way for small children to run, the obstacles break up the running and give a chance for a breather.
“There may also be a big dose of mud!”
Children will also be provided with hand warmers and there will be medals for all finishers on the day.
Entry costs £10 for children and £35 for adults, which includes a costume (adults only), medal and event photos. There is no age restriction but under-14s must run with an adult. The cost rises to £40 if booked from December 1 onwards and £50 on the day.
