Customers, relatives and care workers of Bluebird Care in Daventry and Northampton,serving the local communities of Northampton and Daventry district, recently came together to celebrate the company’s third anniversary.
A tea party was held at Daventry Court Hotel for both customers and care workers, followed by an awards ceremony celebrating and recognising the hard work care workers do in the community.
The awards ceremonies were presided over by the chairman of Daventry District Council, Cllr Catherine Lomax, along with the deputy mayor for Daventry, Cllr Wendy Randall. A total of 16 awards were presented to care workers from the company for a variety of services provided during the year.
The employee of the year award for 2014 was presented to Ivan Retalic. He was one of three care workers from the company who had been shortlisted to represent the company as finalists for the East Midlands Great British Care Awards for their respective categories. The others were Marie Joynson and Kara Batchelor.
A charity raffle was also held at this event, in which a total of £148 was raised for The Alzheimer’s Society, the chosen charity supported by Cllr Lomax.
