A TASK panel has been set up to look into complaints over bin collections and grass mowing across the Daventry area

Figures released by Daventry District Council to the Daventry Express show complaints about bin collections alone have more than doubled since the service was contracted out to a private company.

In April last year Daventry District Council, along with Northampton Borough Council, contracted out their bin and recycling collections and grounds maintenance to Enterprise.

In the year before the change-over DDC said it received 356 complaints about bins and recycling.

For the 12 months after Enterprise took over, that rose to 827. However, a spokesman for DDC said many of the complaints were in the months immediately after the change-over.
