A cheque for £1,500 has been handed over to the Daventry Express to boost the newspaper’s fund-raising this year on behalf of the Jago Worrall Foundation.
The proceeds have been presented by Fawsley Hall Hotel & Spa after they played host to The Gusher’s recent Festive Charity Gala.
The event acted as the final flourish to a year of supporting the Foundation, in honour of three-year-old Jago Worrall, from Welton.
He was left with severe brain damage after an accident in which he nearly drowned in March last year. Funds raised help pay for the vital round-the-clock care and specialist equipment the toddler needs in his battle back to recovery.
This cheque goes towards the total £3,390 raised on the night, including raffle and auction proceeds.
Other Gusher-organised events this year have included a quiz night, art and wine evening, and charity cinema screening, all adding up to £10,000 for the Foundation.
Presenting the cheque to Deputy Editor Amanda Chalmers, left, is Fawsley general manager, Mark Clayton, and Business Development Manager, Lucy Pilcher.
