Armed police respond to incident in Corby
Northamptonshire Police were called by a member of the public this morning reporting that a man was believed to be in Corby with a firearm.
Intelligence led them to the Lodge Park area of the town and local people reported seeing multiple police vehicles in Denford Road.

Hide AdA police spokesman said: “At about 9am today police received a report of a man being seen in Corby town centre with a rifle.
“We did arrest somebody in the Lodge Park area of the town.
“Firearms officers were deployed and while no-one was found in possession of a firearm, a man was subsequently arrested on suspicion of firearms offences.”
Officers have confirmed they did recover a firearm during the operation.
No-one was injured during the incident and the man was remains in custody pending police questioning.
