Appeal over a grain store next to village estate

AN APPEAL has been put in to the Secretary of State after permission was refused for a new grain store.

It has been submitted by Mr D Baker and relates to plans for the store adjacent to the Daventry Road and near the Onley Park which were turned down by Rugby Borough Council earlier this year.

This proposal re-ignited fears among residents that this application was a way of getting planning permission for a controversial abattoir plan.

Anyone looking to make comments on the appeal can do so by writing to the Planning Inspectorate, 3/22 Wing, Temple Quay House, 2 The Square, Temple Quay, Bristol, BS1 6PN. Deadline to submit comments is Friday May 27.

The appeal documents can be viewed by going to Rugby Town Hall between 9am to 5pm Monday to Friday.
