Anger as Weedon Tesco plan recommended for approval

VILLAGERS have said that plans for Tesco Express store in Weedon could be “dangerous” for road users.

The comments were made by residents after officers at Daventry District Council (DDC) recommended the plans for approval. If it were to get the go ahead, the store would be based at The Globe Hotel site on the A5/A45 crossroads along with six flats.

Many residents and local businesses have objected to the plans on the grounds of highways safety and a fear that it could lead to other local shops in the area closing.

The application will be heard by DDCs planning committee on Wednesday, March 14.
