DAVENTRY’S ambulance station is facing closure under plans being looked at by its NHS trust.
East Midlands Ambulance Service (EMAS) has said it is considering reducing the number of stations it operates across the six counties from 65 to “between 10 and 14”.
One of those being targeted in the review is the station in Daventry’s Staverton Road.
A spokesman for EMAS said: “We know EMAS has not been as good as its meant to be.
“But we have got plans to become the best ambulance service and this is one thing we are looking at to make it better.”
