Amazon Daventry donates £5,000 to life-saving Northamptonshire charity

The Warwickshire & Northamptonshire Air Ambulance was given £5,000 by the Daventry employer and the money will go towards keeping their two helicopters flying and continue their life-saving work.

The air ambulance team depends entirely on donations, and typically attends three to six missions a day with each operation costing on average £1,700.

Jo Payne, national partnerships manager at The Warwickshire & Northamptonshire Air Ambulance, said: "We’re incredibly grateful to everyone at Amazon Daventry for their vote of support.

"The donation will make a big difference and help us continue our life-saving missions.

"We’d like to take the chance to say a big thank you to Victor and the team for supporting us with this donation."

The Warwickshire & Northamptonshire Air Ambulance provides first response services to emergencies across the community and many of the UK’s major road networks.

The charity was nominated by members of the Amazon fulfilment centre team who will work with Warwickshire & Northamptonshire Air Ambulance over the coming months on a number of fund-raising activities as part of a Stand Out charity partnership.

Victor Pulido, site leader at Amazon Daventry, said: "The Warwickshire & Northamptonshire Air Ambulance plays a vital role in our community.

"We couldn’t be happier to be supporting them as our Stand Out charity this year.

"This initiative will help us support those working to make the local community a safer place."

The donation forms part of the 'Amazon In The Community' programme whereby the company supports the communities around its operating locations across the UK.
