Advice centre’s future in doubt

A CHARITY which helps people in financial trouble is under serious threat of closure next year due to a cut in funding.

Advice Daventry, made up of the Citizen’s Advice Bureau, DIAL and Welfare Rights, could lose £26,752 it receives from Northamptonshire County Council (NCC) which needs to make drastic budget cuts.

About 8,000 people use the centre every year. Last year it helped almost 2,000 new clients claim more than £4 million in benefits.
