£52m care home scheme for Daventry blocked

RELATIVES of dementia sufferers are urging a rethink on care homes after a £52 million scheme was blocked by the government.

Northamptonshire County Council (NCC) was this week told its overhaul is too expensive and the funding has been withdrawn.

There was already anger over the plans as it would have left no social service provision for dementia patients in Daventry.
