PLANS for a major new retail scheme in Daventry, including a cinema, are expected to be submitted within a month.

Henry Boot Developments is the company chosen by Daventry District Council to come up with the plans for retail units on the car park just north of the High Street known as Mulberry Place, and on the old outdoor pool site.

Included in the £50m development will be a new library on the Chapel Lane car park, and a cinema.

The new library will be set up to contain the books, computers and other services of a modern library, and a registry office is also being looked at.

The outdoor pool site is earmarked for a supermarket, petrol station and large store.

Henry Boot had originally planned to submit the applications in September, but has faced a delay.
