FESTIVE fun is on its way to Canons Ashby as the countdown to Christmas begins.

There will be double the fun as two events take place today (Thursday) with a journal and sketch book workshop taking place at the house.

You can spend the day making your very own leather-bound sketchbook or journal and learn the ancient skill of basic bookbinding.

For those who wish to indulge their sweet tooth, An Evening of Christmas Chocolates will take place where you can learn how to make beautifully-packaged gifts.

This is followed by a Meet the Housekeepers event where people can see how the house and its treasures are cleaned and preserved from 12pm until 3.30pm on Sunday.

On Wednesday a Christmas Cookery Demonstration from 9.30am until 2pm will provide seasonal meals while a Victorian Christmas Decorations Day takes place on Thursday November 24.

Victorian Christmas events run on November 26 and 27 and December 3, 4, 10 and 11 and on Friday, December 9 there will be Carols in the Courtyard at 7.30pm to get everyone in the Christmas spirit.
