Daventry Choral Society is celebrating its 25th anniversary with a concert at the town’s Holy Cross Church next week.
The concert will see the premiere of a new work from Patrick Hawes and will be based on the poem The Danetre written by Alfred Noyes.
Among the other work to be performed by the group include Vivaldi’s Gloria, I was Glad by Parry and Three Motets by Stanford. In addition to The Dane Tree, Patrick Hawes will perform Angel Song and Three Piano Pieces.
Appearing alongside the society’s members are sopranos Judit Felszeghy and Philippa Hyde, counter tenor Tom Williams and baritone Quentin Hayes. The group’s musical director Nicholas Scott-Burt will conduct the concert.
The concert is at 7.30pm on Saturday April 25. Tickets for the concert are between £12 and £15 and £1 for students. They can be booked by calling 01327 876370 or 01327 878015.
