A ONE-woman show about one of the most legendary actresses this country has ever produced will be coming to Long Buckby Library next week.
Heavenley Margaret comes to the venue at Station Road and is dedicated to the life of Margaret Rutherford. The actress appeared in big-screen adaptations of Blithe Spirit and The Importance of Being Earnest and played Miss Marple in four big adaptations of Agatha Christie novels.
Sitting in a small room in limbo, waiting for her husband to join her before entering the pearly gates, she reflects on her life, her career, her relationships with some of the towering giants of British theatre and her own struggles to reach the top of her profession. Both funny and poignant, the play reveals secrets that will guarantee surprises for her admirers.
The show starts at 7.30pm and tickets cost £6.50. They can be bought from Long Buckby Library or from the newsagents in the village.
