A new campaign encouraging the women of Daventry to get active has been launched by leisure operator Everyone Active at Daventry’s Leisure Centre.

‘Our Girls Can’, which is being launched in partnership with Daventry District Council, invites people to nominate women, including friends, family or workmates of any age and ability, that have inspired them to take on a new active challenge.

All entries will be put into a prize draw and will give the nominee a chance to win prizes, including £500 towards a well-deserved holiday. Nominations can be made via the centres’ Facebook and Twitter pages, by summarising in 120 characters how their nomination has inspired them to be more active. Terms and Conditions apply.

The competition is being held in support of Sport England’s national This Girl Campaign, which was launched earlier this year to celebrate active women everywhere.

Luke Parratt, Everyone Active’s general manager at Daventry Leisure Centre, said: “We’re very excited to be launching the Our Girls Can campaign.

“It’s the ideal opportunity for us all to show our appreciation for the unsung female heroes in our community and celebrate those that have inspired us to achieve our goals.

“Sport England has done a great job of empowering women across the UK through their campaign and we want to help continue that message in Daventry. We’re encouraging everyone to get involved and make their nomination!”

Nominations can be made before April 8.

The winner will be announced on April 15 before being entered into a national prize draw to win £500 in holiday vouchers.
