Daventry Choral Society will be taking a step back in time when they perform the first concert of the year.
The musical group will perform the works of Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart and Henry Purcell at the concert, to be held at the Holy Cross Church in Daventry on Saturday, April 12.
Among the pieces performed will be Solemn Vespers and the Missa Brevis or Sparrow Mass by Mozart.
From Purcell’s catalogue, the society will perform Welcome To All The Pleasures and Jehova Quam Multi Sunt Hostes.
The society will be joined by Orchestra da Camera performing the orchestral piece Fantasia for Strings by Purcell. They also welcome Judit Felszehy and Simon Lumbyback as part of our ensemble of soloists. They will be joined by TomWilliams and Rupert Reid. Judit has a Daventry connection as she is the conductor of the Daventry Community Choir. Tickets cost between £11 and £14. Students in full time education can attend for the price of just £1.
