THE town centre will be echoing to the sounds of the funfair later this month when the popular Mop Fair returns to Daventry.
It rolls into town on Saturday, September 15 and Sunday, September 16, bringing with it all the traditional ‘fun of the fair’.
On the Saturday the fair opens from 11am to 8pm and on Sunday from 12 noon to 6pm.
Toddlers and teenagers will be thrilled with what is on offer – with rides and stalls to cater for everyone.
These include dodgems, a traditional carousel, twister, hook-a-duck, mini-rides, helter skelter, waltzers and trampolines, F1 dodgems and plenty of other children’s rides.
There will also be a variety of fairground organs in the High Street with all the attractions designed to bring great family entertainment to the town.
A specially-created stage will also feature look-a-like cartoon characters to see on Saturday.
And a trip to the fair is never complete without treating yourself and the family to some sugary doughnuts, sticky candy floss, chewy toffee apples, tasty hot dogs or a delicious burger.
If you fancy something a little healthier then take advantage of the array of cafes, pubs and restaurants in and around the town centre serving a variety of dishes to suit all tastes and budgets.
Sally Halson, manager of Daventry Business Partnership and organiser of the event, said: “The Mop fair is always one of the most popular town centre events.
“It brings hundreds of extra visitors into the town which benefits the local economy as well as providing some great family entertainment.”
