'Vibrant' and 'buzzing' village among 9 most expensive places to buy a house in Northamptonshire

Northamptonshire’s most expensive neighbourhoods have been revealed, including a ‘buzzing’ village named one of the UK’s best places to live.

The county’s costliest places in which to buy a house include six neighbourhoods where the average home is now worth £400,000 or more.

Among them are two places where the average house price has shot up by more than 10% in the last year.

In Wootton and Collingtree, the average house is now worth £400,000, according to the latest data published by the Office for National Statistics.

Wootton has been named by Muddy Stilettos as one of the best places in the UK to live.

Muddy Stilettos described it as a ‘vibrant village with a buzzing community’. It also praised Wootton’s ‘top-notch’ schools and great road and rail links, describing the village as striking the ‘perfect balance between town and country’.

Towcester was another of Northamptonshire’s priciest places to feature on Muddy Stilettos’ list of the best places to live.

The ‘buzzy market town’ was described as having enjoyed ‘something of a renaissance in recent years’.

That is reflected in its property prices, with the average house in Towcester West and Blakesley now costing £395,000.

Below are the nine most expensive places in which to buy a house in Northamptonshire, listed in reverse order.
