House buying firm reveals which areas in Northamptonshire sell properties the fastest and slowest
The latest data shows that it takes an average of 118 days to sell a property in the county.
House buying firm, Property Solvers, revealed that it currently takes an average of just under 17 weeks to sell a property in Northamptonshire.
The latest dataset analysed over 1,084 property sales across the county between March 2020 and March 2021.
The statistics tracked the moment a property was listed on Rightmove to the point when it was marked as officially 'sold' at the HM Land Registry.
Property Solvers co-founder, Ruban Selvanayagam said: “Although buyer demand hasn’t waned over the course of the pandemic, the length of time for transactions to complete has certainly lengthened.
“Operational activity has still pretty much continued, but the home sales industry – like many others – has had to learn to adapt over the last year. Many solicitors, mortgage brokers and other professionals in our sector have been working from home which has often resulted in administrative and other operational delays."
Tracking 41 properties in the NN12 postcode over the last year showed that home sellers in that area waited 141 days on average from listing to completion.
Properties were sold the fastest in the NN6 and NN16 postcodes - 95 homes in these areas took 99 days to sell on average.
Mr Selvanayagam continued: "With positive news around the vaccine roll-out, as more people gradually return to offices and agencies, we’re cautiously optimistic about things picking up over the course of the year.”
