Heavenly Coward comedy comes to Milton Keynes Theatre

A CAST of major TV stars and West End performers will be lighting up the stage with a new version of a classic comedy.

Milton Keynes Theatre will be putting on a new production of Noel Coward’s Blithe Spirit. It tells the story of a husband and wife, Charles and Ruth, who are haunted by a previous relationship. During a seance, an eccentric medium manages to conjure up the ghost of the Charles ex wife.

Alison Steadman, known for her starring role Abigail’s Party, and to a new generation as Pamela from the hit BBC sitcom Gavin and Stacey, will play the outlandish medium Madame Arcati.

She will be joined by two stars of the popular ITV drama Cold Feet. Robert Bathurst and Hermione Norris, who played David and Karen Marsden in the show, will again play husband and wife, taking on the roles of Charles and Ruth. Bathurst was also recently seen in another ITV hit, Downton Abbey.

They will be joined by Ruthie Henshall who is an Olivier award winner who has appeared in productions of Chicago, Cats and Miss Saigon.

Blithe Spirit will be performed from Monday until Saturday February 19. All of the evening performances will start at 7.30pm with a matinee performance starting at 2.30pm on Wednesday and Saturday.
