Fiori Musicali perform at Sulgrave Manor

STAR soprano Grace Davidson will be performing with Daventry-based classical musicians Fiori Musicali this weekend.

On Saturday, January 21, the group will be at the historic setting of Sulgrave Manor for a celebrational New Year event.

Fiori has a reputation for attracting some of the finest specialist musicians to this part of the country, bringing beautiful music to beautiful places.

And so to start 2012 off with a bang Fiori’s director Penelope Rapson will be bringing some of her favourite performers to Sulgrave.

The guest artist for this special event is Grace Davidson, well known for her frequent appearances on television and a popular and familiar face at Fiori concerts.

Grace’s exquisite voice has made her a great favourite with Harry Christophers and his well known choir the Sixteen.

And it was in Northamptonshire with Fiori Musicali where Grace released her debut CD to great acclaim.

She has also recorded solo music by Handel with the Sixteen, and for this celebratory concert at Sulgrave she will be singing favourite arias by this composer.

Penelope Rapson said: “We are always thrilled to have Grace perform with us, she is a superlative artist who never fails to wow her audiences. And our audiences come from all over to hear her.

“At our recent pre-Christmas performance of Handel’s Messiah we had people from as far afield as London and Darlington. Fiori’s philosophy is that everyone should be able to hear the very best of live classical music, whoever they are, wherever they live.”

Penelope, who lives in Preston Capes, added: “We bring the music to the people, and it seems the people come to us. We play a lot of music from the time of Handel. And the way we play is different, the music gets a new clarity and vibrancy, a bit like a newly restored old master.

“We are also hugely grateful to South Northamptonshire Council for supporting what we do”.
