This photo dates from the 1904s and was in the Daventry Express archives.

It shows the crew of Westbourne’s – a steel cutting company based in Daventry.

During the Second World War the factory produced undercarriage components and control columns for the De Havilland DH 98 Mosquito, a twin engined, wooden built, fast bomber, fighter and reconnaisance plane.

There were various factories which produced the aircraft, but the closest to Daventry was the Standard Motor Company in Coventry.
