DAVENTRY’S Phoenix Youth Centre will be hosting three free days of music starting tomorrow (Friday).
The centre, off Ashby Road, is opening its doors for Friday evening, Saturday and Sunday for PhoenixFest.
The event kicks off on Friday with DJs and live bands from 7.30pm to 10.30pm.
On Saturday and Sunday the centre will be open from noon to 10pm with more live music throughout. Many of the musicians and bands are local youngsters.
As well as the music, there will be other free activities including the centre’s indoor skate ramps.
Matthew Johnson, one of the centre’s youth workers, said: “Really it’s all been organised by the young people themselves.
“They’ve come up with the ideas of what they want to see, and they’ve gone and researched how to put these things on as well.
“This is the fourth year we’ve put on PhoenixFest and this year’s event will be the biggest undertaking for us so far.”
The event is aimed at those aged 13 to 19 but is open to anyone.
