A DAVENTRY band have launched their debut self-titled album at the Birmingham O2 Academy at the weekend.

Stereotypical Blues Train, a four-piece classic rock band made up of Tom Carnell, vocalist, Ben Hood, guitarist, Flynn Whelan, bass guitar and Sam Thorne on drums, were at the venue on Saturday.

The band is influenced by rock heavyweights such as Led Zeppelin, Jimi Hendrix and Pink Floyd. Stereotypical Blues Train have a sound that captures the styles of these artists, while maintaining a degree of individuality and variation, infused with elements of funk, blues and rock.

Ben said: “The album launch went really well, we played the whole album straight through with no glitches, so there was a good reaction on the night.

“People have been giving us feedback telling us what their favourite track is which is a wierd feeling but very cool.”

After meeting at Northampton College, the boys have been performing for the past three years across Northamptonshire, Rugby, Leicester, London and Birmingham regions.

Their new album can be purchased for download on iTunes or Amazon.
