As the town proudly stepped out onto their doorsteps for the fifth time to clap and drum their pots and pans, the lift tower in St James became a beacon of light over the town.
For three hours, one of Northampton's most iconic landmarks turned blue from 8pm to 11pm as part of the Clap for Carers national NHS campaign.
It comes as eleven new deaths were announced at Northampton General Hospital yesterday, taking the total at the Cliftonville site to 126.
The projection - which came from Northampton Saints ground - could be seen in parts of Northampton including Duston and the from the train station.
Mat Lawrence from Daventry firm, MLE Pyrotechnics, and Kvant Lasers, have been working hard for the past few weeks to make the display possible.
The letters 'NHS', 'Clap for Carers' and 'thank you' were projected onto the former lift-testing tower before a show of blue laser lights beamed into the night sky.
Mat said: "We were pleased with the result yesterday - it was the combination of rehearsing and producing something for the town.
"We cycled through different messages to attribute our support to the NHS, key workers and carers. Many people have got in touch and said the wording was visible from several kilometres away.
"We're planning to do this again and would like to thank Northampton Saints for their support and use of their secure facilities.
"We'd also like to thank the owners of Northampton Lift Tower and of course the key workers, carers and members of the NHS working so hard for us all. Stay home, stay safe."
