Nina Cashmore, a full-time, self-taught artist who has lived in Daventry her life, is now counting down the days until coronavirus lockdown restrictions are lifted and she can start welcoming customers back to her studio.

She said: "Growing up I drew all the time, but I didn’t start painting until many years later.

"Nowadays I usually work with acrylic paints on canvas boards, but occasionally I like to use other mediums, including digital. Sometimes it’s good to have a break from the usual style and try something different."

Nina's first studio/gallery, ‘Nina Cashmore Art’, is based at the Old Dairy Farm at Upper Stowe, near Weedon.

This has given her an outlet for selling prints and originals.

Nina added: "It's a beautiful countryside location in which to continue working on commissions and my own pieces.

"Much of my work to date has been very locally orientated: paintings of the town and surrounding villages, a map for Daventry Country Park and also artworks for Danetre Hospital. Most of my commissions have been of local houses too. It’s easier to paint what I know best!"
