Family-run pet shop in Weedon Bec serves community during coronavirus lockdown

Jayne Collins who opened the doors of Tilly's in 2019, said it's been an honour to carry on providing their service throughout the pandemic.

Staff at the Church Street store said they were 'proud to support the local community, ensuring that owners were able to care for their beloved pets among the chaos'.

Tilly's is a family-run pet shop, specialising in a wide range of quality and natural products for dogs, cats and small animals.

Jayne, owner and founder, started the shop with the vision of providing other pet-lovers with a trusted place to discover the best quality products for their furry friends.

Animals have always been a huge part of Jayne's life. So far, she has owned seven dogs, three cats, two guinea pigs, one rabbit and two horses.

When she was born, the family dog ran up to see her and was one of the first people to welcome Jayne to the world - even beating her father to it.

The shop is named after Jayne's late springer spaniel Tilly, who lived a happy and long life.

During the pandemic, they maintained collection-only pre-ordering and free non-contact deliveries to those who needed it most, many of whom were vulnerable or shielding.

Furthermore, the team did everything they could do help the community further. In store, they sold locally made and produced face masks and coverings, with all proceeds going to the NHS and local food banks.

Jayne said: "I'd ike to say a massive thank you to our local community and loyal customers for their continued support, and another big thank you to the 'Tilly’s Team' who are helping to keep pets healthy and happy, whilst maintaining safety for owners."
