The Costcutter convenience store in Long Buckby has been sold by its owners, Moore and Sons, through property specialists Christie and Co.
The store, owned by the Moores since 1919, has provided the community with groceries, household goods, fresh produce, coffee and more for just over a century.

Trevor said: “After trading for 101 years in the same family, the decision to sell up lock, stock and barrel was a very difficult one to make."
The property was initially brought to market in 2017 but the sale fell through two days before the exchange of contracts. Within the same week, the store's main supplier went into administration.
Trevor said: "We were left with no option but to put the sale on hold and concentrate on saving our family business."

Trevor added: "This worked extremely well and within the next two weeks an offer was accepted, and the sale went ahead."
Steve Bell, who handled the sale on behalf of Christie and Co, said it was a delight to be a part of the deal.
He said: "Family-run stores such as this with such a long history are a rare opportunity, and this one was a delight to deal with.

The store was marketed at offers over £795,000, and Christie and Co said a final value above the guide was achieved following 40 viewings and 11 offers.
