Diane Ostler, paramedic, wedding cake business owner and organiser of the giveaway, said: “My wedding cake business, like many thousands of other businesses in the wedding industry, has been affected by the Covid-19 Pandemic.

“This has caused considerable anxiety, upset and concern for both couples and businesses alike.

“I began to look for ways to help myself and other local businesses keep a higher profile and stay in the minds of couples planning their weddings once restrictions began to lift and they are ready to plan again.

“It occurred to me that we could work together to find a way to do this, and also use this as an opportunity to say thank you to the NHS and key workers by offering one lucky couple the chance to win a large part of their wedding in the process.”

Once Diane had the idea in her head, she approached local businesses she has worked with over three years and managed to put together eight companies to great the ‘Win a Wedding Bundle’.

For her, as well as other business owners, thanking the NHS and key workers is of particular importance.

Diane added: “We would like to say thank you to the amazing NHS and key workers who, together, have kept the country and county running as smoothly as possible and worked under incredible pressure in the most extraordinary of circumstances.

“This is of particular importance to two of our suppliers (Diane and Ben of Ben Cotterill Photography), who as well as having successful wedding businesses and offering a prize within this bundle, also work as frontline ambulance staff with over 32 years service between us.

“We also have two suppliers who are keen to be involved to say thank you to the NHS for the care that they have personally received when their own health was compromised.

“We are hoping that the couple winning the bundle will have the most amazing wedding day and are looking forward to working with them to help make their dream a reality.”

The full prize, which is worth £8,200 includes a wedding reception at Sedgebrook Hall worth £3250 and £500 towards decoration from Stingray Events.
