KFC fans in Northampton can finally get their fried chicken fix.

It has been revealed today that the fast food chain will reopen three Northampton branches after initially closing all of it's restaurants and halting it's takeaway service on March 25.

Over the past couple of weeks, the restaurant has gradually opened 20 restaurants in the UK.

And, as of today (Wednesday), bosses have made the decision to now open a further 80 more branches for delivery only.

The list shows KFC in Nene Park Sixfields and Towcester Road will start taking orders tonight while KFC in Alexander Terrace will start up it's fryers on May 1 - in partnership with Deliveroo, Just Eat, or Uber Eats.

Bosses say all of the restaurants will continue serving a 'limited menu' to help the smaller kitchen teams maintain social distancing with 'stringent processes and hygiene measures' put in place.

So far, KFC has donated 13,000 meals to NHS workers and by opening their restaurants they say their teams will continue to deliver 10,000 meals a week to NHS staff and key workers, in partnership with Deliveroo.

Paula MacKenzie, managing director for KFC UK & Ireland said: “I’m really proud of the way we, with our franchise partners, have been able to carefully get some of our restaurants back open for delivery over the last two weeks.

"This next stage allows us to continue to provide wider access to hot food for those who need it most, whether that’s key workers after a long shift or those working from home who need a quick, affordable dinner for the family.

"I’m hugely appreciative of our team members who have returned to work – it’s a challenging time for everyone, but we’re so glad to play our part in helping to feed the nation.”
