Company review could lead to factory job cuts

The company is considering moving some of its manufacturing from the Duddery Hill site to a factory it also operates in the Netherlands.

A consultation is already underway and the company, which employs 250 people in Haverhill, has confirmed nearly 20 per cent of the workforce could lose their jobs following the outcome of this.

“As a result of an ongoing review of its operations footprint IFF has started a consultation process with employee representatives on the potential move of its liquid flavours manufacturing, liquid sample production and spray dry activities from its Haverhill UK facility to its Tilburg NL site,” said a company statement.

“Following the consultation period, it is possible that up to 48 jobs in Haverhill would be made redundant.

“IFF is committed to the consultation process and to exploring all possible avenues to achieve its strategic goals while minimising any redundancies.”

The company, which is based in America, added that as part of the proposed plan nine jobs may be created through further investment in production.
