Community spirit shines in Daventry to help terminally ill man have dream garden makeover
Kind businesses and volunteers in Daventry have shown true community spirit to help a terminally ill man.
Since the Daventry Express featured Martin Spiers, who needs a helping hand in his garden, people have generously been offering their services..
Martin, who has COPD and uses oxygen, spent thousands of pounds to have his garden made level so he could access it using his mobility scooter.
But work still needs to be done.
His wife, Jacqui, who has mobility issues, told The Gusher she has been 'overwhelmed' by people's generosity and kindness since the appeal was launched earlier this week.
She said: "We can't thank the lovely people of Daventry enough for pulling together like this."
Jacqui is desperate to provide an area her husband can safely enjoy as she fears this could be his last summer. She said she will personally respond to people's messages when she is able.
Thanks to: CCE Landscaping and Easigrass Northamptonshire and Ciprian Niţă and all the volunteers.
