The Royal & Derngate's final tribute to William Shakespeare 400 years since his death is his last masterpiece, The Tempest.

The show is a co-production with Made in Northampton working with the National Youth Theatre and can be seen from Thursday, June 23, to Saturday, July 2.

Set on a remote island of villains, lovers, fools and outcasts, The Tempest is a tale of enlightenment and forgiveness. Conjuring up a supernatural world of sorcery, savagery, shipwrecks and chivalry, Shakespeare’s late play is the Bard at his most mystical and audacious.

Shakespeare’s magical story of growing up and growing old will be performed by the next generation of talent – an 18-strong ensemble of 18 to 25-year-olds that brings together the most promising young actor from across teh county and beyond.

Evening performances at 7.45pm (7pm on Tuesday, June 28) and matinees at 2.30pm on Saturdays and on Thursday, June 30. Tickets are £16 and can be booked by calling 01604 624811 or visit www.royaland derngate.co.uk.
