Overtones tour comes to town

The band are on tour following the release of their latest album, Sweet Soul Music, which came out earlier this year.

After three consecutive top five albums, 750,000 sales and three sold-out headline tours, The Overtones continue to reboot classic sounds for contemporary audiences.

Gig goers will be transported back to the 1960s, when television shows on both sides of the Atlantic launched era-defining artists as James Brown, The Temptations, Jerry Lee Lewis and The Supremes.

In recent months, The Overtones have joined forces with Michael Ball on Let It Be Me, the first single to be taken from his new album If Everyone Was Listening.

Lead singer Timmy Matley also triumphed as the winner of BBC Children in Need’s Great British Sewing Bee.

They also have also previously performed at the Queen’s Diamond Jubilee Concert, the Festival of Remembrance, BT London Live and British Summer Time.

Support is by Scottish singer-songwriter Kerri Watt.

Watt released her latest EP You in April via 25 Hour Convenience Store – the record label from The Libertines drummer Gary Powell.

The four tracks were produced by Tom Fuller who has worked with acts including Mumford and Sons, Robbie Williams and Ella Henderson.

She said: “I’m so excited and very grateful to be opening for The Overtones.

“Touring and playing live is my favourite part of what I do and the venues on the tour will be some of the biggest I’ve ever played.

“I’m looking forward to sharing my music with a whole new audience.”

The Overtones play the Northampton venue on Wednesday, July 8, at 7.30pm.
