A theatre company in Daventry will be taking a show to the acclaimed Edinburgh Fringe Festival i n August.
The Impulse Collective, based at the iCon, will be performing their show Exposed at the festival, which runs from August 1 to 26.
It will be the first time the company, which was only formed in September, will be going off to Edinburgh.
One of the people behind the company Stuart Reid said: “We are all really buzzing and so excited because we realise that for a new company, this is a massive opportunity for us.
“We have got a festival coming up which we are going to and then it will be full speed ahead and preparation for Edinburgh.”
Impulse Collective is made up of Mr Reid, Matthew Hesseltine, Joseph Dowsing, Jess Richardson and Lara Ensor who all met at the University of Northampton and are aged between 21 and 24.
Exposed is all about people’s impulses, both good and bad, and the restrictions that society places upon controlling the impulses.
Stuart added: “It is quite a physical piece made up of either one or two performers on the stage, or sometimes a group of us performing. We look at how we resist some of the impulses and how society restricts them as well. It is quite a contemporary piece performed by all five of us.”
They are already hoping for a brighter future following their appearance at the festival.
Mr Reid added: “In an ideal world, we would like to take this show on a UK tour.
“In the future, it would be great to recast this show so that we can then work on something brand new and perform that.”
