Show set to music offers key message

MORE than 60 pensioners attended an innovative theatre performance to help bring the curtain down on bogus callers.

Daventry and District Housing (DDH), working in partnership with the Town Tenants’ Group, offered residents the chance to watch Trickster, a musical show based on a true story of distraction burglary, at Daventry Leisure Centre.

Trickster told the story of proud ex-solider George and his battle after being conned by bogus callers.

Mary Thompson, from Crick, attended the event along with seven other people from her over 60s group.

She said: “The whole session was brilliant. Bogus callers are so clever, and they don’t always work alone, so it makes a big difference having the information put across on how to stay safe.

“The production was terrific and the singing was particularly good, as you tend to remember messages better when they are put to music.”
