A CELEBRITY recital will be taking place at Fawsley Hall later this month.
The audience will be in for a treat when on Sunday, March 17 the young prize-winning pianist Mihkel Poll appears at Fawsley Hall for a concert of Mozart, Chopin and Brahms
Mihkel Poll– only 26 years old – is already making headlines in London as well as in his native Estonia.
He has been invited to perform a solo piano recital at the venue by Penelope Rapson, director of professional orchestra Fiori Musicali.
She said: “I first heard this remarkable pianist in London last year.
“The day we heard him he was scheduled to play a programme of piano trios, but that morning one of the musicians he was to play with fell seriously ill, and at the last minute Mihkel found himself on stage without either of his fellow musicians to perform with.
“Undaunted, he performed a complete evening’s recital (of entirely different music!) for the audience, and played it all entirely from memory – a formidable feat.”
Among Mihkel’s accolades are winning the Guildhall Wigmore Recital Prize and Fiori are thrilled he is able to perform at Fawsley Hall in one of their special guest artist celebrity recital concerts.
This exciting concert blazes the trail for Fiori’s new season of concerts – a landmark season celebrating Fiori’s 30 years of giving concerts of beautiful music in beautiful venues in and around Northamptonshire.
People going to see the concert can also choose to eat in the venue’s luxurious surroundings following the concert. The concert starts at 7pm and there are concessions for children, students, and blue badge holders.
Tickets cost £20 and booking in advance is recommended as sales are going fast. To book, either call the Fiori Musicali booking line by calling 01327 360931 or alternatively go on line at www.fiori-musicali.com.
